*Tipping is customary in Africa unlike here in Australia.  Tipping remains your own choice; however, it is very much a way of life in Africa and keeps staff motivated. For your convenience on selected scheduled safaris, tour guide & porterage tipping can be pre-purchased at time of payment.  (The cost would be approx. AUD$150-250 pp  depending on safari length).  If tipping is prepaid, portage is included wherever possible however note that bar staff, waiters and other service providers will not be included and is customary to tip approx. 10% of the bill.

**Tour Costs: Tour costs are based on ground costs, airfares with taxes and exchange rates at September 2016. Traveljoy cannot be held responsible for any change which may occur. Airfare taxes can change at any time until issued. We reserve the right to amend the tour costs up to the date of departure, should there be fluctuations in exchange rates, airfares, game park fees, hotel rates or other costs. Special escorted group departures are cost on the basis of a minimum number of passengers participating. Should this number not be reached, Traveljoy reserves the right to increase the tour cost, offer an alternative, send it unescorted or cancel the tour.

***Lunches: some lunches are not included, (refer to your itinerary for details). We will stop en route or will be staying at accommodations which allows the freedom and flexibility of the individual to choose what size lunch you would like, eg a sandwich, or soup or a full lunch.  We have respected previous client feedback regarding not to pre-book lunch (pre-booking requires either a buffet or full lunch) as most guests have preferred the choice of a smaller option.  If we are on a game drive, a packed lunch will be provided.

Game Drives and Nature walks:  Frequent game drive and nature walks are included throughout all of our packages. They are a thrilling and most rewarding way to spot and photograph unique creatures and birds in their natural habitat.  Game drives are usually conducted early in the mornings/crack of dawn and/or in the evenings when the wildlife is the most active and the temperatures are not too hot.  Our excellent guides and drivers will take you to the best waterholes and sights to see as much as we can. Mornings and evenings can be cool so make sure you take layers of clothing.   Be prepared for many early mornings whilst on an African Safari – save your naps for the heat the day.  You are free to ‘sit out’ a shared event if you wish some more ‘me time’ – just check with your guide first if the time is right.
