Depart the wine region and head along the coast to enjoy the spectacular views. Mountains crowd close to a shoreline dotted with beaches and bays, overnight in Mossel Bay. Explore the gorgeous town of Knysna and stop at the Bloukrans River Bridge – the highest in South Africa. Stay two nights in the small village of Storms River, in the breath taking Tsitsikamma National Park. Drive through Jeffreys Bay, ‘Home of the Perfect Wave’, your last night will be spent in a hotel in Port Elizabeth, the friendly city and capital of the Eastern Cape.
DAY 1 On arrival in Cape Town you will be met by your experienced tour guide. With its majestic Table Mountain backdrop, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Visit Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting) and Castle of Good Hope; the oldest European building in South Africa. In the heart of Cape Town’s working harbour, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront offers restaurants, entertainment and shopping which seamlessly merge with the fresh sea breeze and African sun, adding a zest to a cosmopolitan, vibrant atmosphere. Stay in Cape Town for two nights. D
DAY 2 Visit Cape Point Nature Reserve, a spectacular narrow finger of land, covered in fynbos and home to beautiful bays. An afternoon stop at Boulders Beach to see the African penguins. BD
DAY 3 No visit to Cape Town is complete without a tour of the famous vineyards with wine-tasting at the estates. Drive through Franschoek and Paarl to overnight in picturesque Stellenbosch. BD
DAY 4 Depart the wine region, drive through the Hugenot Tunnel along the spectacular coast with mountains on one side and beaches and bays along the other to stay overnight in Mossel Bay. BD
DAY 5 Enjoy a tour through the Bartolomeu Dias Museum then head towards Knysna, passing many holiday towns like Wilderness and Sedgefield. Visit the Knysna Heads Lookout and in the afternoon a tour of the town. Overnight in the heart of the Garden Route in the beautiful town of Knysna. BD
DAY 6 Today head along the coast through the Garden Route. This scenic drive runs parallel to the coastline featuring lakes, mountains, forests, rivers and golden beaches. Stop at Bloukrans River Bridge, the highest in South Africa. Drive to the Big Tree and Storms River Bridge. You will stay in the Tsitsikamma for two nights. BD
DAY 7 Visit Tsitsikamma National Park; a paradise of bird and marine life, indigenous forests and many rivers along kilometres of coastal beauty. A morning walk to the Storms River mouth to board the ‘Spirit of Tsitsikamma’ boat trip (weather permitting). You will also see and have the opportunity to cross the Storms River Suspension Bridge. DAY 8 Drive via Jeffreys Bay, renowned for world – class surf, to Addo Elephant National Park where elephants and antelope roam in their natural habitat. Overnight in a hotel in Port Elizabeth. BD
DAY 9 After breakfast drive to Port Elizabeth Airport to board your flight to your next destination. B
